Bread Ingredients:

  • 3 Ripe Bananas Mashed
  • 1 Ripe Banana Sliced lengthwise.
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1/2 Cup Date Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Cacao Powder
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract Or Powder
  • 2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Pink Salt

Instructions

Bread Instructions:

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper for an oil-free option.
  • Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, applesauce, date sugar, vinegar and vanilla extract. Mix well until the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, cacao powder, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  • Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  • Transfer to the Loaf Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Toppings: Add the two banana pieces cut lengthwise for visual appeal.
  • Bake:  Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool: Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely
  • Slice and Enjoy: Once cooled, slice and enjoy your delicious WFPB banana bread!
